Create Your First Talking-Head Video Using Free Tools

Welcome to the first lesson in our Content Creation Roadmap.

If you've been putting off making videos because you thought you needed expensive equipment, complicated software, or years of experience, I have some good news.

You don't.

This lesson will show you one of the simplest ways I've found to create short videos that look natural and professional using free tools.

The goal of this lesson is not to create a perfect video.

The goal is to help you create your first video and begin building the habit of posting consistently.

What You'll Need

• A smartphone

• The free Edits app from Instagram

• ChatGPT (or another AI assistant)

• About 20–30 minutes

That's it.

Step 1 – Create Your Script

Open ChatGPT.

Tell it who you help and who you want to reach.

For example:

"I help people learn how to create an extra income from home while improving their health."

Then ask:

"Please write 10 short video scripts with strong attention-grabbing hooks for social media."

Read through the scripts and choose the one you like best.

Don't worry about making it perfect.

Just choose one and move on.

Note: In a future lesson, we'll dive much deeper into writing scripts that sound natural and reflect your own personality.

Step 2 – Open the Edits App

Download the free Edits app if you don't already have it.

Open the Teleprompter feature.

Copy your script from ChatGPT and paste it into the teleprompter.

The text appears close to the camera lens, helping you maintain natural eye contact while you speak.

Step 3 – Record Your Video

Press Record.

Now remember this...

Don't read like you're reading.

Read one sentence.

Pause for just a moment.

Think about what you're saying.

Then say it naturally, as if you were talking to one friend.

Smile.

Relax.

Let your personality come through.

People connect with real people—not perfect presenters.

Step 4 – Post Your Video

When you've finished recording, post your video.

Don't spend hours trying to make every detail perfect.

Every video you create teaches you something.

The more you post, the more comfortable you'll become.

Consistency beats perfection every time.

Here are a few things I've learned that may help you.

• Don't try to promote your business opportunity in every video.

• Focus on helping people, inspiring people, or making them curious.

• Give viewers a simple next step:

  • Comment a keyword.

  • Save the post.

  • Share it with a friend.

  • Follow your page.

  • Visit the link in your bio if they'd like to learn more.

Your goal is to start conversations—not deliver an entire sales presentation.

Looking Ahead

Once you're comfortable creating videos with this simple method, I'll show you the computer-based workflow I personally use with Zoom, VSDC, Canva, and other free tools to create even more polished content.

Remember...

Your first goal isn't to become a professional video creator.

Your first goal is to become someone who posts consistently.
